Michael W. Brown is the owner and founder of the Law Offices of Michael W. Brown. He attended California State University at Fullerton graduating with honors and then went onto attend Pepperdine University School of Law. Mr. Brown started his career with a boutique law firm in Newport Beach, California focusing on business transactions and business litigation. Since that time, Mr. Brown has had the opportunity to serve as in-house counsel to a variety of both private and public companies, including Apria Healthcare, Tenet Hospital Systems, InSight Health Services, Edwards Lifescience and GE Healthcare.
Mr. Brown has extensive experience in a variety of business and healthcare related matters, including preparing, reviewing and negotiating all forms of agreements, creation of employee handbooks, OSHA programs, various policies and procedures, and other forms and templates necessary for businesses to operate within the law. Mr. Brown has also handles issues specifically related to the healthcare industry, including managed care contract, physician arrangements, provider agreements, compliance, and HIPAA programs. He was a member of the panel that revised the AdvaMed Code of Ethics in 2009 for the medical device industry, negotiated corporate integrity agreements with the OIG and has responded to many government inquiries on behalf of clients.
Mr. Brown is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California, the Southern and Central Federal District Courts as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and is also a frequent speaker on various topics including business, healthcare, compliance and HIPAA/privacy.
